The First Peach!

Coral is eating the first peach off our peach tree this year! We got quite a few, unfortunately the birds ate a lot of them too. Oh well!

The Giant Radish!

We pulled this huge radish out of our garden. It looks like it actually started out as 3 or 4 radishes that all grew into one! It's as big as the beets we pulled, yes Dad I said beets! =)

Still a Lego Lover

Peter still loves to play with his legos. On this particular occasion I had read him a comic (notice the comics sitting next to him) about a little boy who built a catapult, measured the distance between his catapult and his sister and then launched a ball at his sister! =) Peter thought that was a pretty ingenious idea and decided to try it himself! =) The first picture is his lego catapult and the second...well, I'm sure you get the picture! =)

Coral's Summer Haircut

Coral decided she wanted to get her haircut short. I figured her hair length is one of the few things a 6 year old can have her say about so..okay. Her father, however; was not as enthusiastic about the idea. He loves her long blond locks, but he agreed it was her choice. He wanted to capture this picture of those long locks before they were cut off though! =)

Coral with her new haircut. Which we all love on her, including her father!

Coral Loses Her 1st Tooth!

Coral lost her first tooth!! It had been wiggly for about a month, but not to the point I thought it would come out soon, but then one night while Coral was brushing her teeth...she kinda hanked the toothbrush against her tooth and out it came! The the experience on her face was hilarious. She was very excited but, was not aware that it would bleed a little when it came out. So her face was a combination of excitement and concern! =) Here is what she wrote in her journal about it..."I just lost my first tooth! It feels like a worm is going into my mouth when I suck my lip into it....Ewww! I can't wait to tell my friends when I go back to school tomorrow." Peter thought the event was pretty interesting. So when I asked him what he wanted to me to write in his journal he said, "My tooth will come out in 2 (displaying 2 fingers) days. It really will Mom!" It turned out he had been talking to Ryan about losing a tooth prior to my question and had been told he would lose a tooth in about 2 YEARS but, miscommunicated that when he told me.

As in all other growing up events, I was a little sad that my "baby" girl lost her first tooth and had to catch it on camera.

Oh, I can't forget one of the best parts.. as I layed in bed with the kids that night, after having put Coral's tooth under her pillow for the tooth fairy, Coral was musing upon what the tooth fairy might bring her (not ever having lost a tooth before). I responded she would just have to wait and see, she accepted that answer (knowing that I was in fact the tooth fairy), snuggled into me and a moment later whispered "I've always wanted a cupcake maker and sticker machine." =) Of course, she didn't get a cupcake maker or sticker machine but she was just as excited to find a dollar under her pillow!

A Deacon In Training!

Ryan had taken the sacarament to someone and before we took the sacrament tray back Peter did some practicing! =)

Coral got a kick out of Peter's pose in this one!

(ps. I got these off of Coral's camera and for some reason the date is stamped on all of them. However, I think the setting is wrong since this picture wasn't taken in Septemer or in the year 2026?! )

Another Hike

We took another hike in the San Tan Mountain Park, this time we took Ryan's mom with us. It is always so much fun to get out.

And of course hiking would not be complete without throwing rocks! =)

Peter's 4th Birthday!

Peter wanted to get to his presents first thing in the morning. Since we knew he would get more later that night (from family), we figured it wouldn't be a bad item to spread them out.

Peter decided to have an astronaut birthday. Here is his moon cake. It was pretty easy other than trying to have enough gray neccos for the craters, I bought 4 packages and still didn't have enough. What looked like gray from the outside of the package ended up being a lot of purple. Dang! But I think it turned out pretty good. The other challenge was finding the little astronauts, apparently not enough kids want space birthday parties.

Okay, so this doesn't look as cool with the flash but, we had christmas lights for stars and then I found a glow-in-the-dark solar system and hung those up too! Looks pretty pathetic in the picture but, you get the idea. He thought it was fun.

And that's it for Peter's 4th birthday. Pretty pathetic eh? We decided to use the camcorder more this year so, we didn't get as many pictures! Oh well, it was a good day!

Ballet. Especially for Karen!

Coral wanted to show Karen some of what she has learned from the ballet instruction Karen gave her for her birthday! Of course this was 3 months ago so, I'm sure she's much better now! =) Even she commented on the second video "That wasn't ballet" when she started with a little jump and roll! =)

A Family Hike!

We decided to try out a small mountain range close to our house, it turned out to be a great place for a quick hike.

Look at the beautiful scenery we were able to enjoy! It's so green! =) Actually for Arizona it was pretty good!

The kids had a lot of fun, until they realized we had to walk all the way back to the car too!! However, walking sticks made all the difference. Who knew they could be so much fun?!

Geologist in training.

When we stopped to have a snack Peter enjoyed exploring the surroundings, especially the rocks!

He enjoyed it almost as much as his father! =)

Who then shared his love and knowledge of the outdoors with his son! =) What a great dad!
