A Twirl of Color!

Coral wanted me to catch her spin her skirt! I actually thought the pictures turned out kinda fun!

Trying on his inheritance! =)

I bought Ryan a pair of running shoes for Father's Day. Peter thought they looked so cool he asked Ryan..."Dad? When you get old and die, can I have you shoes?!" =) Of course Ryan decided to play upon Peter's fascination with his shoes and showed Peter how fast he could run with his new running shoes! So, later, despite the shoe size difference, Peter decided to try them out for himself. =) Such a funny boy!

Hiking Merit Badge

Both Coral and Peter needed to go on a hike for one of their summer goals. They love to hike over a few hills up in the mountains, but after you hike over them you have to walk on a boring flat sand path back, which isn't exciting enough to hikers. So to earn their merit badge/charm they had to complete this hike without complaining. =)

Peter enjoyed leading the hike and as he successfully climbed over rocks he would tell us that he was a "real hiker boy" now!

Coral is always drawn to the rockest parts of the trail, to test her hiking skills.

Our 2 hikers. They hiked without complaint until we got to the boring flat trail, which is when we had to remind them of the no whining portion of their goal when they started asking..."Are we almost back?" =) They did great!

Earning his first "merit badge"

As I have probably told most of you, we created a summer "scouting program" for Peter and a summer "achievement program" for Coral. This was a result of Peter's determination go "scouting" and earn merit badges after watching Pixar's UP! I found patches to go with various goals/projects we determined for Peter. Here he is working on his construction merit badge..building a bird house.

Coral's First "achievement" project!

Instead of patches Coral earns charms when she completes her goals/projects. For her craft/art charm she learned how to make those awesome hot pads we all made when we were kids. And guess what?..they are still a big hit!

Who Needs Toys?

The kids had a ton of fun with the wind and some grocery bags. Course after one of them blew into our neighbors yard, I decided maybe it wasn't such a great game after all! But, hey.. who knew trash bags could be so much fun?!

Shooting Practice!

We felt bad that the kids were playing with trash bags and so we got a "real" toy.... a slingshot! =) Just kidding. The kids did have fun learning how to shoot paint balls from it.

Notice Peter's tongue.. =)

Boating!

We went boating with the Waite Family.

The ride up to the lake was very windy and we all got car sick. Including Jordan who is trying to subdue his upset stomach by putting his head between his legs! =)

Peter and Matthew tubing.

Jordan and Coral enjoying the boat ride.

Ryan enjoyed just relaxing on the back of the boat.

More Boating Fun!

Corey wasn't sure how much he liked the boat not to mention his oversized life jacket, but he eventually got used to it. Isn't he cute?!

Me and the kids, Coral, Peter, and Jeffery.
